# Controls & Keybinds

> Every default key on Bad Times. Most can be rebound in Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM.

  FiveM caches the **first** default it sees for a key. If a key does nothing after an update, rebind it in **Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM**.

## Core

| Key               | Action                                             |

| `F1`              | Phone                                              |
| `F2`              | Inventory                                          |
| `F5`              | Keyring (vehicle keys)                             |
| `F6`              | Job menu (switch jobs, duty)                       |
| `F9`              | Radio                                              |
| `F11`             | Voice range cycle                                  |
| `B`               | Push to talk (radio)                               |
| `E`               | Interact with almost everything (look at it first) |
| `Esc`             | Pause menu                                         |
| `INSERT` / `HOME` | Hide HUD / hide everything (screenshots)           |

## Vehicles

| Key                  | Action                              |

| `F5`                 | Keyring / lock / unlock / give keys |
| `H`                  | Hang out of the window (drive-by)   |
| `G`                  | Engine toggle                       |
| Look at a seat + `E` | Change seat / sit in the back       |

## Gunplay

| `F3` | Weapon grips (recoil attachments) |
| `F4` | The Plug (if you have access)     |
| `K`  | Sling / unsling long gun (police) |

## Emergency services

## Smoking & consumption

These only work **while you're holding** a smoke, cup, plate or pipe:

| `E`         | Light / inhale / sip / snort / confirm                     |
| `G`         | Pass to a nearby player                                    |
| `J`         | Bong water controls, move item to/from mouth               |
| `N`         | Ash                                                        |
| `Y`         | Clip a cigar                                               |
| `U`         | Freak a black (pull the paper)                             |
| `K`         | Charge a dead vape                                         |
| `M`         | Place the item on the ground                               |
| `Z`         | Tuck a smoke behind your ear (`/earsmoke` to take it back) |
| `Delete`    | Throw it away                                              |
| `Backspace` | Put it away / cancel                                       |
| `Page Up`   | Blow smoke rings                                           |

## Useful commands

| Command        | What it does                                                   |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `/bank`        | Bank menu when at a teller                                     |
| `/illegalmenu` | Burner tablet (illegal jobs & market) — or use the tablet item |
| `/smokefix`    | Frees you if you get stuck holding something                   |
| `/slapitem`    | Slap a smoke out of the hand of the person in front of you     |
| `/watermark`   | Watermark position & opacity                                   |
